Without Verona’s traditional parade, Memorial Day was a bit smaller this year. But it was no less somber, as Verona’s Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts placed flags at Verona’s Doughboy monument while Mayor Jack McEvoy read the names of the fallen.

You can also remember the fallen as you take a walk around town: In 2015, Verona installed commemorative signs honoring each of them at intersections around town.
