Girls, Boys Track Take 2nd In SEC Championships

Veronica Valera, flanked by Kara Dunphy and Bridget O’Donnell, captured gold in the 3200m

Both the Verona High School girls and boys track & field teams captured second place in their respective Colonial division competitions at the SEC Conference Championships yesterday.

The girls were led by Lauren Kobernick’s first-place finish in the 100m high hurdles in a time of 16.43 and Veronica Valera’s gold medal in the 3200m in a time of 13:10. For the boys, Conner Robinson captured first in the 400-meter dash in 53.22, Milo Attal was first in the 3200m in 11:33 and Cole Martin won pole vault with a vault of 12-06.
