To the Editor:

I have known Michael and Kim Nochimson for more than 17 years. We met when my eldest daughter was entering Kindergarten and have remained friends and neighbors since. Together we have shared many great Verona memories as our children thrived in this amazing community and school system!

Through the years I have been witness to their commitment to our town and our children. We share many of the same values. Raising daughters in our great town has been a blessing for us all because of the many great programs and opportunities our town offers our children and families. Our children have gone through the Verona school system and gone on to pursue college degrees, the oldest 2 getting ready to graduate this year. (My youngest is VHS class of 2022).

Through the years Michael has coached my daughter in Recreation basketball and supported many other events and activities along the way. I have eagerly supported his previous campaigns for Town Council and can honestly say I believe in his vision and energy for Verona. Michael and Kim are true Verona residents and love their neighbors and neighborhood. They have lived here for more than 20 years and enjoyed and supported the true fundamental family values that are an essential core for a thriving community. Michael supports and has demonstrated amazing talent regarding fiscal responsibility and appropriate resource allocation and spending on vital resources necessary for growth and development of our community. This past year has been draining in many ways. It has been challenging for all of us, especially in our beloved community of Verona.

We all know someone who has either contracted the virus, or worse, lost a loved one to it. Our children have been forced to learn remotely and miss out on athletics and other extracurricular activities. But because of our neighborhood and the culture and backbone of Verona, we have managed to weather these hardships and thrive

We need a Council that will continue that work and act with fiscal responsibility and innovation toward a future that is bright for Verona.

Verona’s downtown business district has been ravaged by shutdowns and limitations, leaving many business owners barely hanging on. Many of those business owners are our neighbors and friends. They are at the core of this great town! We need a Council that supports only responsible building on Bloomfield avenue and one that will advocate for the quality of life that we have come to know and love here in Verona. We need Michael Nochimson back on the Verona Town Council!!

We need to secure the council with membership that will advocate for better choices for our town and our property values and our neighborhoods safety and security.

Please remember to Vote line 5a May 11th!! Michael Nochimson!!

Sincerely,
Jean Kenneally
Verona, NJ
