Tuesday was Senior Night for the Verona High School volleyball team, and they pulled out a 2-1 win over one of Verona’s toughest rivals, Caldwell.
Megan Meehan and Sinclaire Infusino, two of this year’s three co-captains delivered 23 digs across the three games. Verona took the first one 25-19, but Caldwell gained the upperhand in the second for a 25-21 win. The two teams were next and next for the third before Verona edged out a 25-23 win. The game was almost a mirror opposite of Verona’s opening game this season, when they lost to Caldwell. That game has been Verona’s only loss this season.
In addition to Meehan and Infusino, this year’s seniors also include Jessie Loudon (captain), Mary Wallace and Geena Klinger.
Verona has blazed an 8-1 record this year. The team travels to Livingston on Thursday and hosts Cedar Grove on Friday.
