Jesse Loudon, who plays both softball and volleyball for Verona High School, is this year’s VHS recipient of the National Girls and Women in Sports Day award from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

The award is normally presented at an in-person event, but that was not possible this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement was made Wednesday by VHS Athletic Director Robert Merkler on Twitter.
