Mrs. Michelina “Mickey” Mercuro, 91, died peacefully on January 23, 2021 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, January 30, in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Lakeside Ave., Verona at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Facial masks and social distancing will be required.

Born in Verona, Mrs. Mercuro grew up in Newark and lived in Piscataway before moving with her family to Verona in 1968. She graduated from West Side High School in Newark, where she met her husband of 39 years, Ralph J. Mercuro.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Mercuro worked at Prudential in Newark, Fred Perry Sportswear in Verona, in the payroll department of Celentano’s in Verona and then as an office assistant in Our Lady of the Lake School, also in Verona. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph J. Mercuro, her parents, Bartolo and Carmela (nee Schillaci) Guiffrida and brother, Louis Gaeta.
Mrs. Mercuro is survived by her loving sons, Albert Mercuro (Nancy), John Mercuro (Nancy), Ralph Mercuro (Carol) and Steven Mercuro (Mary Pat), and cherished grandchildren, Katie, Michael and Julie Mercuro, Meghan and Nicholas Mercuro and Matthew Mercuro (Anna), Annie Lobb (Kiefer) and Rose Mercuro. She has one great-grandchild due in April.
