How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Verona’s Department of Public Works will begin picking up Christmas put out at the curb on Wednesday, January 6, but the Verona Environmental Commission (VEC) has a different idea for your tree: re-use it.

The VEC says that, with a few simple steps, you can put your tree out in your yard and turn it into a winter habitat for wildlife. “Throw some bird seed in the tree and watch how the birds love their new hang out spot!” the VEC wrote on its Facebook page. In the spring you can cut the tree up and let it naturally decay in a corner of your yard, the VEC adds.
