An unusual year needed an unusual Christmas pageant, and the one recorded by the young parishioners at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit may just fit the bill.
They recorded segments in small, socially distanced, masked groups inside the church and out, and then eighth grader Stephen Gaffney edited the whole thing together so that it could be played during the church’s virtual service on Sunday, December 13. One thing that didn’t change: The appearance of the rolling sheep and camel, which were handmade by a member of the congregation four decades ago.
The church will have virtual services on Christmas Eve at 4 and 10 p.m. The 4 p.m. service is geared towards children and can be viewed here. At 10 p.m., Holy Spirit will have its Choral Festive Christmas Eve Service. You can view that here.
