Forest Avenue Elementary School‘s fourth grade Junior Girl Scouts will again be hosting a holiday toy drive for children in need in our area.

The troop is asking for new, unwrapped toys to be dropped off in its donation box at the Learning Express toy store at 643 Bloomfield Avenue. The community can take advantage of Learning Express’ Black Friday and Small Business Saturday deals, shop local and help disadvantaged children all at the same time. The Junior Girl Scouts will be collecting toys until Friday, December 11.

Last year the Junior Girl Scouts collected 183 toys and clothing items for children in foster care in Newark and Paterson, and children receiving services from Oasis – A Haven for Women & Children, Ronald McDonald House, Jersey Battered Women’s Services, and others. There is an even greater need this year due to COVID-19 for children of all ages.
