When every night has felt like family night, the Verona Municipal Alliance Committee (VMAC) reminds you that “Now, More Than Ever, Dinner Makes A Difference!”

This October, VMAC will celebrate that and help keep the fun and conversation alive by expanding Family Night to Family Week, from October 19 to 23. It is designed to be a week full of fun activities at home and in the community, with the ever-popular homework and activity-free night taking place on Thursday, October 22! Visit www.VMACnj.org or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for up-to-date information.

As always, VMAC encourages families to make memories and have some fun together over great meals and conversation. To help families do that, VMAC is adding a special feature–Verona Family Week Bingo. It is simple. Complete five activities on the sheet (to be emailed by schools and available on www.VMACnj.org on Friday October 16) then return the completed form (scan or photo) to [email protected] for a chance to win a prize. Bingo activities include home tailgate parties, talent shows, pumpkin decorating, art projects and more. On Wednesday, October 21, VMAC’s theme is “Wear It Wednesday.” Show your pride by wearing maroon or Verona gear.

As always, VMAC encourages you to supporting our community businesses that always support us. Dine at Verona restaurants for takeout or dine-in as allowed or stop in a store or other business. Maybe try one you have never visited before.

Verona Family Night began in 2003 as a “Scheduled Night to be Free of Schedules.” With the support of the Board of Education, Town Council, Recreation Department and OLL, VMAC normally schedules two family nights during the school year. The purpose of Family Night is to provide Verona families a cleared schedule to enjoy quality time with each other. It is a simple reminder of the importance of family time. Family mealtime is an effective tool in fostering family unity and helping children and adolescents remain substance free.

The mission of VMAC is to work toward community wellness through the celebration and cultivation of the compassion, character, and confidence that individuals, especially our youth, need to make good choices in all aspects of their lives.
