There will be a free webinar on all the changes to voting this year on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m.
The event, which is being organized by the Verona Democratic Committee, will cover vote-by-mail safety, ballot boxes, polling place locations, the Post Office and other questions related to the November 3 election.
Presenters include Essex County Clerk Christopher J. Durkin and Verona Municipal Clerk Jennifer Kiernan.
To participate, you must register in advance. Once you are registered, you will be sent an email with information on how to access the webinar from your computer, phone or tablet.
Voting this year will be primarily by mail and ballots will be sent to all registered voters around the first week of October. The New Jersey Division of Elections has unveiled a site where you can track your ballot once you mail it back. If you choose to go to a polling location to vote in person, you be given a provisional paper ballot.
If you do not know whether you are registered to vote, you can check your voter registration status here and then register to vote if necessary. This is the form to apply to vote by mail in Essex County. Any registered voter may now vote by mail in any election.
