As we begin the new school year, the Verona Public Library is pleased to offer a virtual program in support of parents and caregivers who are helping their children at home. “Managing Mental Health while Returning to School During COVID-19,” will be offered on Thursday, September 10, at 1 p.m.
We have all spent our spring and summer months learning to cope with stress and adapt to conditions brought about by the global outbreak of Covid-19. As autumn approaches, and a new school year begins, we are faced with new layers of uncertainty, and are being challenged to adapt in new ways. Changing family dynamics, new school guidelines, and stressful current events are on everyone’s mind.
Please join us for an hour long workshop presented by clinicians from the Intensive Family Support Services, a program of the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris, Inc. Topics include information and tips about coping during times of change and uncertainty, how to talk with your children and teens about difficult topics, and how to manage stress and promote resilience.
Registration is required. Please sign up online: https://www.veronalibrary.org/adult-programs/
