Knit For A Cause, the charity knitting group created by the Verona Public Library three years ago, hasn’t been able to meet in person since the pandemic closed the library in March. But the group has been knitting at home, and last night met outside at a member’s house to total up the work they have done and decide where to send it.
The group, which has sent dozens of knitted and crocheted hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters and blankets to chemotherapy patients, a Native American reservation in South Dakota, homeless veterans and other local populations in need, decided to once again dedicate its crafting to Oasis, a shelter for women and children in Paterson.
Knit A Cause, which is open to all knit and crochet crafters, has made many of its items with yarn that was donated to the library. If you have yarn to donate, or would like to join, contact Assistant Library Director Catherine Adair-Williams at 973-857-4848 or [email protected].
