The Verona Community Center seems to be fully booked for COVID-19 testing tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30, but Essex County will be running two other satellite testing locations in Livingston and Millburn this week, while operating its main site in Weequahic Park.
The Livingston site will operate on Wednesday, July 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot at St. Philomena’s Church, which is at 386 South Livingston Avenue.
The Millburn site will operate on Thursday, July 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Millburn/Short Hills First Aid Squad, which is at 188 Glen Avenue in Millburn.
Testing is by appointment only and to make an appointment, visit www.EssexCOVID.org or call 973-324-9950. Essex County residents age 13 and older with or without symptoms are encouraged to get tested.
The test being given in Verona, Livingston and Millburn is a molecular diagnostic test, which involves spitting into a test tube. It tests for an active viral infection at the time of testing and is considered the most accurate. It takes less than 15 minutes to do the test and you remain in your car the whole time. Anyone taking the COVID-19 saliva test should not eat, drink, smoke or chew gum 30 minutes prior to arrival.
