The Minetteā€™s Angels Foundation has awarded four $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors.

Skyler Freedman and Andrew Emanuilidis, both Verona High School students, were each awarded one of the foundation’s general scholarships, which go to students who intend to major in the medical field.

The Impact scholarship is given to a graduating senior from northern New Jersey who has been directly impacted by breast cancer.  This yearā€™s winners are Arianna Tietjen, who also attends VHS, and Nicholas Gullace, a student at Seton Hall Prep.

The Minetteā€™s Angels Foundation was created in 2004 to honor the late Minette Grosso McKenna, a Verona resident and nurse who passed away from breast cancer in 2003. In addition to its scholarships, the Foundation supports breast cancer patients and their families, as well as breast cancer research and treatment facilities at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
