The Verona Public Library Cookbook Club meets once a month (online for now) to exchange recipes, taste new dishes, and share tips and tricks about cooking and baking.

This month’s theme is food to bring to a barbecue. This could be something to grill, a favorite salad or dip, or a delectable dessert. The month of June is the time to celebrate Dads and grads, so the club is asking members–and people looking to join– to share a recipe fit for the festivities that it will publish on its website. If you have a recipe to share, please send it by 5 p.m. on June 12, 2020 to [email protected].

For inspiration, check out Kanopy, a free service with your library card for streaming movies, documentaries, and “The Great Courses” like “Master Outdoor Cooking.”

Also in food, on June 11 at noon, the library will hold a virtual talk with John Holl, author of a new cookbook called “Dishing Up New Jersey.” Holl is a New Jersey native who searched the 21 counties to find the best recipes New Jersey has to offer. The recipes in the book, published by the New Jersey State Library, celebrate the foods, flavors, cultures, and traditions of the Garden State.

Space is limited. Please register here to attend this online event.
