One more sign of how Verona real estate is changing in the COVID-19 pandemic: virtual open houses. Last month, the state banned in-person open houses, and local real estate offices switched to video conferencing technology like Zoom to show houses one-on-one. Now, several properties on the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service database are displaying virtual video tours.

Some are available all the time. That includes listings like 1 Claridge Drive #114, which could portend a significant change for the Claridge condominium towers because they expressly ban in-person open houses. Some are scheduled showings, like 10 Overlook Park, a mansion on the Verona-Montclair border that will have a Facebook Live tour on Sunday, May 24, from 3 to 4 p.m. So, check with your agent to see what they are doing to show the properties you are considering.

Here’s what’s happening in Verona real estate this weekend, from lowest priced to highest in each category:

8 Vincent Place: 4 beds, 2 baths. Updated split-level on quiet cul-de-sac. $499,000.

1 Claridge Drive #605-603: 1 bed, 1 1/2 bath condo in full-service high-rise building. East-facing views. Price cut another $11,400 to $188,500.

1 Claridge Drive #624: 1 bed, 1 1/2 bath condo in full-service high-rise building. NYC views.  Price cut $36,900 to $238,000.
