Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ11) announced today her next COVID-19 telephone town hall will be held on Thursday, May 14, at 5:10 p.m. This is Rep. Sherrill’s fourth telephone town hall during the COVID-19 pandemic, and she will focus this week on reopening the economy.
“Reopening the economy safely and in consultation with public health officials is going to take coordination, planning, and communication at all levels,” said Rep. Sherrill. “I’ve been working with colleagues in the House as well as state and local officials on what steps Congress can take to facilitate these efforts. For our town hall this week, I am bringing together experts who can speak to the public health, business, and research perspectives of what it will take to reopen and who can help answer questions from the community.”
In addition to Rep. Sherrill, the call will also feature Dr. Perry N. Halkitis, dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health; Debbie Hart, president and CEO, BioNJ; and Michele Siekerka, president and CEO, New Jersey Business & Industry Association.
Residents are invited to register to call-in to the telephone town hall at sherrill.house.gov/live. The town hall will also stream live at 5:10 p.m. directly on Rep. Sherrill’s website.
