Buy Gift Cards To Aid Businesses, Residents

Verona’s Community Services Office has rolled out a plan to help Verona’s businesses and residents in need through gift cards.

It is encouraging residents to purchase gift cards (online if available) from local businesses and drop them off or mail them to the Verona Children’s Fund at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave. There will be a drop box in the lobby to prevent unnecessary contact with other people. Township of Verona staff will collect and maintain all the gift cards to distribute to those in need.

Buying gift cards locally will provide some much needed revenue to our local businesses while providing meals and other items to those who need it the most. A list of businesses who are open and offering gift cards and other ways to help promote can be found on a new town website, StandWithVerona.org. An updated list will also be posted on the Township website at www.VeronaNJ.org on the COVID-19 Information page. Please note: This page is subject to frequent change.

If you are interested in volunteering some time or services to help deliver these gift cards, grocery shop and provide home-cooked meals for those in need, please email Steven Neale at [email protected] so you can be added to a contact list. You will be contacted as the need arises.

Please remember, the measures taken to protect all of us are also causing tremendous strain and uncertainty for many among us. Anything you can do to help keep our community strong and safe is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions, please call the Community Services Office at (973) 857-4830.

Be healthy, be safe and stay home when possible and we will get through this together.
