Allyson Cunningham, 56, of Verona, passed into the loving embrace of Our Lord on March 7, 2020. Allyson, who was residing in Chatham, was a special education teacher who taught in Connecticut, Virginia and until her passing, at Bloomfield High School in New Jersey. She received many professional accolades over the years and was loved and well respected by colleagues. Allyson’s greatest joy, however, came from her students and their accomplishments, both great and small.

In addition to being devoted to her teaching profession, Allyson was a woman of deep faith and an active member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Montclair, She helped with feasts at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and sang in the choir at Immaculate Conception Church.

Allyson was one of the kindest, gentlest and generous souls to grace this world. She was devoted to family, friends and animals of all kinds but especially her cherished dogs, Sydney, Corey Jo, and Scout who preceded her in death and Milo who is mourning her passing.
