Pole Vaulters Medal At County Championship

Verona High School’s pole vaulters were among the big winners at Wednesday’s Essex County Championship for winter track. Owen Fogarty earned first place among the boys with a vault that cleared 13’9, while Erin Petrino took first among the girls when she cleared 9’6”. Cole Martin took second place in boys’ pole vault and Rebecca Katsios was fifth at 7’6”.

Isaac Skrivanic took second place for Verona in shot put and Jake McConnachie took fourth in high jump. David Navarro who ran a personal record in the mile and placed seventh.

There were also many personal bests among the Verona girls competing: Abby Castillo in the 200, Emma Hogan in the 800, Amanda Caldera in high jump, Carolyn Feeley in hurdles, Karina Squilanti in the 400, and Lucy Hogan and Kara Dunphy in the 3200.
