‘Where In Verona Is It?’ The Reboot, Week 1

“Where In Verona Is It?” was the photo contest that put MyVeronaNJ.com on the map. Beginning in July 2010, Fred Goode put out week after week of devilishly obscure pictures of locations all over town. Readers would be up at the crack of dawn each day to see the clues, hoping to be the first to make the correct guess. As the contest heated up, Fred sometimes thought that he was being followed by readers who wanted to get a jump on the next week. Although he didn’t originally think that the contest would go more than a few weeks, it wound up running for 12 whole months.

This fall, with MyVeronaNJ.com’s 10th anniversary approaching, Fred offered to reboot the madness. Every day this week, we’ll be posting a few photos of someplace in Verona, and you’ll get to guess where it is. Same for the four weeks to follow.

Although MyVeronaNJ.com has grown to encompass Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages in addition to the website, we’re only going to be posting the clues here on the site, and that’s where you’ll need to post your guesses. You must post under your real name and email address, so we know who to reach with the weekly prize: A MyVeronaNJ.com T-shirt. If nobody gets the correct answer by Friday night, Fred is the winner. (He won once in the 52 weeks of the first contest, but he’s gotten craftier since then.)

One other rule this time: You can only win once in the reboot. So if you do come up with the right answer, step aside and let other folks have the fun.

  1. Way to make this easy…NOT!

Darn…if I weren’t at work, I’d be driving around town looking for recycling containers.

Curse you Fred Goode! I’m putting you on Santa’s naughty list! ;)

  2. It’s tomorrow and I’m making a wild guess. (Fred, you are making this hard!) How about Vanguard Medical on Grove?

  3. It will be a Christmas Miracle if this is correct; and it’s NOT from me…it’s my husband’s guess so he gets the credit or the blame: Annin Lofts?

  4. Two members of the Shilling family had guesses, but only one got it right. Congratulations to Michele Shilling-Beaulac on being the first winner of the reboot of “Where In Verona Is It?” Yes, the location of this week’s contest is Anthony Francos Pizza on Pompton Avenue.
