On Wednesday, Verona High School students will need to pack up all the toys they will bring to Newark’s Hawkins Street School and Salomé Ureña Elementary School and they are still about 450 toys short of their goal.

Here are the toys still needed for each grade:

About 50 pre-k boys and girls (combined)
Boys K: 58
Girls K: 41
Boys 1st: 50
Girls 1st: 50
Boys 2nd: 48
Girls 2nd: 37
Boys 3rd: 40
Girls 3rd: 23
Boys 4th: 39
Girls 4th: 33

The gift should be approximately $10 to $15 and wrapped with a Post-it Note or gift tag indicating what the item is; whether it is for a boy, girl or either gender; the age for which the toy would be appropriate (pre-K to 4th grade). The donations can be left on the bench just outside of the main office at H.B. Whitehorne or in the main lobby at VHS. Being a secret Santa to Newark schools has been a Verona tradition for almost 20 years.
