The Verona High School boys soccer team improved its record to 9-7 on Wednesday with a 2-1 win over Cedar Grove.
Max Handler scored the first goal for Verona moments after the game started, taking a ball off the chest and sending it past the Panther’s defenders with his left foot. Cedar Grove tied the game just before the first half ended. When the second half started, Handler score again, and the second half was pretty much all about Verona offense. The Hillbillies repeatedly tested Cedar Grove’s goalie, who had 12 saves on the afternoon.
