Laning Avenue School’s kindergarten Daisy Troop 20534 recently donated $240 to No Kid Hungry to help end childhood hunger in America.

The troop’s 24 Daisies each donated $10 of their cookie sale proceeds to No Kid Hungry, which is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength. The nonprofit believes that more than 12 million children in the United States live in families that don’t have reliable access to affordable, nutritious food.

Daisies are the first level of Girl Scouts, open to girls in kindergarten and first grade. One of the key requirements for a Daisy is to participate in a leadership or advocacy program that makes a difference in her community or the world.
