Christopher Festa is headed to the Division III College World Series. The Verona resident is an outfielder for Johns Hopkins University baseball and the Blue Jays defeated Shenandoah 7-3 on Saturday to clinch their the third trip to the big event in the last 12 years.
Festa is a 2016 graduate of Seton Hall Prep, where he achieved a .385 career average. He’s at .290 for Hopkins this season, with key homers and RBIs to his credit: Festa has 13 home runs for the Blue Jays this season and is seventh in the nation in home runs.
Johns Hopkins baseball (34-11) will open its College World Series run on Friday, May 31, against Babson (38-8) at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
