Golf Outing To Benefit Veterans

Backpacks For Life, the veterans charity started by Verona veteran Brett D’Alessandro, has set its fourth annual golf fundraiser for Monday, April 29, at the North Jersey Country Club in Wayne.

Tickets are $400 for an individual golfer and $1,500 for a foursome. You can also just attend the cocktail hour and dinner for $150 per person. The event tees off at 10:30 a.m.

You can also sponsor different aspects of the outing, from the tee box sponsor ($250) to the cocktail reception and awards dinner ($7,500). Full details on all sponsorships and registration for the day are on Backpacks for Life’s website.

Since 2014, D’Alessandro has been working to make the lives of homeless veterans easier, filling donated backpacks with a variety of donated supplies, including clothing, toiletries and information on services for veterans. Backpacks For Life also supports homeless and at-risk veterans by connecting them with a wide array of resources holistic therapy to mentorship programs to improve their chances for advances at work.
