Verona Lions Looking For Wheelchairs

The Verona Lions Club has a free medical supply program, the Hospital Loan Closet, that can provide everything from wheelchairs to hospital beds, canes, or crutches to Veronans in need. Now the Lions need something in return.

If you or someone you know have been given a Lions wheelchair and you no longer need it, the Lions are hoping that you will call them and ask them to pick it up. The Lions will also pick up gently used wheelchairs that can help others in the community.

The people to contact are Lions members Joe Benyo (973-239-4196) or Paul Grimes (862-368-1908).

The Verona Lions Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Avenue Bistro, 558 Bloomfield Avenue. Membership in the service organization, which also sponsors a car to transport the sick and elderly to doctor appointments and does other charity fundraising, is open to all Verona residents. For more information contact Andrew Burger at 973-980-2225 or visit the Verona Lions website.
