Dorothy Testa, Long-Time OLL Parishioner

Mrs. Dorothy (nee Evanousky) Testa of Verona and formerly of Newark, died on February 13, 2019 in Fairfield. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona will be on Monday, February 18 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Tuesday, February 19 at 10 a.m.

Dorothy, a Verona resident since 1977, was a registered nurse who dedicated her life to her family, caring for her 4 children and her beloved husband, Dominick. A creative talent who loved to cook and bake for family and friends, she also had a passion for shopping and dressed in the most fashionable styles.

Dorothy was a devout Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish for over 40 years, volunteered at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 20 years and was a member of the Caldwell Women’s Club, enjoying all of the charity lunches with her friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Dominick C. Testa and her siblings John Evanousky, Joseph Evanousky, Mary Reese, Peter Evanousky and Annie Burchess.

She is survived by her children, Nicholas Testa (Cindy), Robert Testa (Shelly), Melinda Burns (Russell), and Mary Gough (Damon); her brother, Alfonse Evanousky; and her grandchildren, Nicole Testa, Christina Testa, Michael Testa, Ashleigh Burns, Emily Burns and Aidan Gough.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-6584 would be appreciated.
