Before you even think of chowing down on wings and ribs for the Super Bowl on Sunday, you should make a date for breakfast with the Verona Rescue Squad.
The squad’s big annual pancake breakfast fundraiser is Sunday, February 3, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the cost is just $7 per person for all you can eat. Kids five and under are free.
The breakfast will take place in the ballroom at the Verona Community Center, which is handicapped accessible.
The Verona Rescue Squad is an all-volunteer non-profit that is supported by donations from the residents and businesses of Verona. Since 1927, the squad has responded–free of charge–to calls for help in Verona 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to the pancake breakfast, you can support the VRS through Amazon’s Smile program or make a direct donation online.
You can also join the VRS as a volunteer. Membership is open to anyone age 16 or older in good physical condition, and the squad provides ample training. For more information, see the information about joining on the VRS’ website.
