If you grew up in an Italian-American family, you probably grew up with Sunday “dinners”: Feasts that began in the early afternoon and stretched until there was no more food to bring out of the kitchen.
Verona UNICO, the Italian-American service organization, will be getting into the Sunday dinner spirit with a scholarship fundraiser to be held on Sunday, January 27, at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. It will begin at 1 p.m. and consist of antipasto, Sunday gravy, pasta and dessert. BYO wine if you choose.
The cost is $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. All proceeds will benefit UNICO scholarships and charities. UNICO, which also sponsors Verona’s Labor Day 5K race, grants significant scholarships every year to high school seniors who live in Verona.
