Verona resident Amy Fox is directing “Some Girl(s)” by Neil LaBute at Studio Playhouse. It will run January 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31, February 1 and 2. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays it will be at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, and $20 for students/seniors.

“Some Girl(s)” features a soon-to-be-married writer, feeling guilty about past relationship transgressions, who embarks on a cross-country trip ostensibly to make amends. As he revisits the ghosts of girlfriends past, the story takes on a darker edge that is at once loathsome, deliciously evil, and funny. New York Magazine said, “Some Girl(s) follows the Neil LaBute recipe—bad behavior with a twist, served ice cold—to a fault.” In addition to Fox, the Studio Playhouse team also includes Verona resident Kevin Ohlweiler, the show’s fight choreographer.

Studio Playhouse is located in Montclair at 14 Alvin Place, just off Valley Road by the Acme supermarket.
