On Thursday, January 24, the Verona Public Library will hold an event to celebrate the new library and raise funds to support a wide range of library programs.
“New Year, New Library” will help support the Youth Summer Reading Club; programs for children, tweens and teens; technology programming; and entertainment and informational programs for all ages.
The event is open to those age 21 and over. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through the library’s website. You can also support the event with a check payable to the Verona Public Library. Organizers are asking you to R.S.V.P. by January 17. The snow date, if needed, will be Friday, January 25.
The Verona Public Library reopened in December after an 18-month-long gut renovation of its historic Carnegie building. The work added a new three-story wing, an elevator, comfortable seating, more computer and charging stations, a working fireplace, updated meeting and activity rooms, and a MakerSpace with 3-D printing and virtual reality technology.
