Attention musical theater fans: Verona native Michael Hardenberg, a 2013 graduate of Verona High School, will be in the ensemble of the White Plains Performing Arts Center’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which runs from Friday, December 21 through Sunday, January 13, 2019.

The show holds a special place in Hardenberg’s heart — it was his favorite movie when he was a child. “I used to put on a Batman cape, pretend to be the Beast, and waltz around the living room with a stuffed animal as Belle,” says Hardenberg. He loves being in the cast as well. “Coming back to this music and this story after so many years has been a real gift. Singing and dancing bring me so much joy and I love getting to share that joy with an audience.”

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, tells the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. The Beast must learn to love and earn love in return, before the last petal of an Enchanted Rose falls. Should he fail to find love he will be doomed to remain a beast for all time.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center is a professional regional theater located in downtown White Plains, N.Y. For tickets, visit the theatre box office Monday-Friday (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), purchase the tickets online at wppac.com or call 914-328-1600. For Group Sales, please contact [email protected].
