Gregory J. Sweeney, of Verona, N.J. sadly passed away at the young age of 48 on December 11, 2018. Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Services will begin on Monday, Dec. 17 at 8:15 a.m., at the funeral home, with the funeral mass to follow at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona. Gregory was born in East Orange, N.J. to Gerald and Linda (nee: LaFaso) and lived in Verona for most of his life. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church.
He was predeceased by his precious son, Nicholas, and is survived by his beloved wife, Laura (nee: McGaha); his cherished children, Samantha, Hope (who is Nicholas’s twin sister), Jessica, Taylor, Gianna; father, Jerry Sweeney, and his wife, Debbie; mother, Linda Danzig, and her husband, Howard; brother, Jeffrey Sweeney; mother-in-law, Florence McGaha; brother-in-law, Roy McGaha; sister-in-law, Lisa McGrath, and her husband, Malachy; and many nieces and nephews.
