Several 2018 Verona High School football players have recently been recognized with All-Conference and All-County honors.
The All-Conference 1st Team (Offense) includes Nick Riggio, running back; Nick Gonzalez, offensive lineman, and Steve Luehs, the Hillbilly kicker this year. The All-Conference 2nd Team (Offense) included Cael Zebrowski, Verona’s quarterback, and Jake McConnachie, wide receiver.
The All-Conference 1st Team (Defense) includes Matt Aldiero, linebacker; Matt Frungillo, defensive back and Brandon Cariani, defensive lineman. The All Conference 2nd Team (Defense) tapped Adam Weiss, defensive lineman; Nick Giuliano, defensive back, and Jake Milmoe, linebacker. Another VHS linebacker, Zach Balogh, received Honorable Mention.
Riggio and Gonzalez were also named All-County 1st Team (Offense), with Zebrowski, McConnachie and Luehs picked for All County 2nd Team (Offense).
Aldiero, Frungillo and Cariani repeated on All-County 1st Team (Defense), with Giuliano singled out for All-County 2nd Team (Defense).
