Mr. Joseph A. Lenkowsky, 97, died on November 23, 2018 at his home in Verona. Graveside services were held in Cedar Park Cemetery on Sunday, November 25.

A period of Mourning is being observed on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at B’nai Shalom (Lipka Chapel), 300 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange with a service each evening at 8 p.m. Condolences may be left at www.proutfuneralhome.com.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Mr. Lenkowsky has lived in Verona for many years.

He proudly served in the Eighth Air Force, 356th Fighter Group in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.

Mr. Lenkowsky was the owner of Ridge Lumber in North Arlington and was a member of the Rotary Club of North Arlington, Shriner’s, Masonic Lodge and Temple Beth Ahm in Verona.

Mr. Lenkowsky was predeceased by his first wife, Elaine Lenkowsky.

He is survived by his wife, Shirlee Sherman Lenkowsky, his children, Pia Rose, David Lenkowsky and Andrea Bettelli and extended family of Dayle Sherman, Debbi Pereira and five grandchildren.
