Each year in early October, the Church of the Holy Spirit marks the Feast of St. Francis by blessing animals during their 10 a.m. worship service. This year, that will take place on October 7, and all are welcome to join. In addition, we will once again host a Celebration of Pets, which was a fur-filled event. This year’s third annual Celebration of Pets will once again be in the Verona Town Hall Square from 1 to 4 p.m. This will allow everyone to honor all their four-footed, winged, and finned friends by recognizing their importance in our lives and the joy they bring us each day.
We are inviting a wide variety of pet-oriented services and businesses, such as animal shelters and fostering groups looking for homes for pets, as well as pet-sitters, and artists and crafts-persons who create things for and about our pets. We will also have music provided by DJ Automatic Entertainment, food vendors, and a Pet Parade at 2:30 p.m. with prizes in several categories. We hope you can join us for a Celebration of Pets this October 7, and every first Sunday in October, as we celebrate all of God’s creatures.
