Verona’s public schools re-open this week, which means that a lot of fall activities will begin to fall onto your calendars. Here’s what’s happening:
Monday
UNICO Labor Day 5K: There will be a one-mile fun run and health walk around Verona Park at 9 a.m., followed by a five-kilometer race through the west side of town at 9:30 a.m.
Tuesday
Girls varsity soccer game against Boonton, Verona High School Lower Field, 4 p.m.
Boys varsity soccer game against Boonton, Boonton High School, 4 p.m.
Girls varsity tennis match against Mountain Lakes, Mountain Lakes High School Tennis Courts, 4 p.m.
Wednesday
Verona Public Schools reopen
Girls varsity tennis match against Nutley, Nutley High School, 4 p.m.
Girls varsity volleyball game against Livingston at Verona High School, 4 p.m.
Thursday
Cross country meet against Newark Academy and Nutley High School at Branch Brook Park in Newark, 4 p.m.
Girls varsity tennis match against Caldwell at VHS courts, 4 p.m.
Knit For A Cause, Verona Public Library charity knitting and crocheting group, Verona Community Center Annex, 7 p.m.
Friday
Girls varsity soccer game against Bloomfield at Bloomfield High School, 4 p.m.
Boys varsity soccer game against Bloomfield, Verona High School Lower Field, 4 p.m.
Football game against Caldwell for suicide awareness, Verona High School Upper Field, 7 p.m.
Saturday
Verona Environmental Commission’s West Essex Rail Trail clean-up, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Meet at VHS parking lot.
