James Giblin, 70, of Verona, N.J., passed away on July 14, 2018. Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. A Catholic prayer service, with military honors, will be offered at 8 p.m. Cremation will be private. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.

Born in Montclair to the late Michael and Nora Giblin, James lived in East Orange and Lake Hopatcong before settling in Verona over 30 years ago. A U.S. Army veteran, he proudly served our country during Vietnam. Prior to retiring, he was a computer programmer with J.P. Morgan Chase in Iselin, N.J. James was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10120 Maplewood, N.J. Memorial Post.

Predeceased by his son, James Giblin, Jr., his brother, Michael Giblin, Jr., and his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his children, Steven, and his fiancée, Jennifer Basedow, and Michelle Weber, and her husband, James; his sister, Mary Ellen Bogart; his sister-in-law, Judith Giblin; and his nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Wounded Warrior Project.
