Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New Jersey Properties has given its Humanitarian of the Year award to Patricia “Patty” Bishop, a sales associate in the West Essex Regional Office in Verona. In making the announcement, Berkshire Hathaway said Bishop (third from left above) “goes above and beyond for every organization and cause she is part of. She encourages and supports other members and those in need.”

Bishop has sponsored children from Guatemala for more than 10 years through Children International, she fundraises for the Minette’s Angels Foundation, is member of the Ladies Auxiliary of her church, and is a company volunteer and office chair with The Sunshine Kids Foundation.

“Patty’s ‘can-do’ attitude and passion for helping others is why we have selected her for this year’s award,” said Steve Janett, chief operating office for New Jersey Properties. “She is a tireless volunteer, giving of herself in numerous ways through local organizations, regional and international causes and we are proud she is part of our company.”
