There were balloons and tears for Amber Reed, Renata Primmer, Julia Rigney and Kate Stanisci yesterday afternoon, but no win.

Livingston High School got one run in the first inning–an Ashley Reuter single that drove in her sister Hailey Reuter–and that was enough for Livingston to claim a 1-0 win over the Verona High School softball team. Christina Colon was pitching for Verona and threw a one-hitter with four walks and 10 strikeouts.

Amber Reed, who has not been able to play this season for Verona, will get back to softball at William Paterson University. Renata Primmer is headed to Drew University and Julia Rigney is going to Mount Saint Mary College. Kate Stanisci will be pursuing a nursing degree at Seton Hall.

The Lady Hillbillies are now 8-9 on the season. They travel to Parsippany today for a 4 p.m. game and host Columbia for an early morning game on Saturday.
