Floyd Cardoz, And The Indian Food You Don’t Know

Floyd CardozThink chicken tikka masala is the be-all and end-all of Indian food? Think again, says Floyd Cardoz. The Bombay native and longtime Verona resident didn’t eat it until he was 25.

Instead, Cardoz wants people to get to know Indian street food, Indian breads and the food of the western Indian region of Goa, where he spent much of his time growing up. He’s put that all together in his newest restaurant, The Bombay Bread Bar, which is the subject of a new video profile on Thrillist. The restaurant draws its name from the casual dining area in Cardoz’ first Manhattan restaurant, Tabla, which operated from 1997 to 2012.

The new place, located in Soho near the corner of Spring Street and Sullivan, opened earlier this year to rave reviews from The New York Times, Eater and GrubStreet.
