The weather finally cooperated long enough for the Verona Baseball & Softball League to hold its annual opening day parade down Bloomfield Avenue on Saturday. The teams (and their fans) marched from Verona Park to Town Hall, where Lindsey Rawding sang the National Anthem and Jack McHugh sang God Bless America. VBSL President Lisa Loudon presented Rich Williamson with a trophy for his more than 20 years of service to the youth baseball and softball organization, and Williamson threw out the first pitch of the season.
