Verona High School’s Spanish Club will be highlighting the many diverse cultures of Latin America and Spain this Friday, March 16, at VHS.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. with an opening ceremony in the auditorium featuring Spanish poetry. At 6:45 p.m., there will be a professional Flamenco dance performance. Then the event will move to the cafeteria, where families can make simple crafts ranging from masks called “Ojos de Dios” (Eyes of God), to beaded bracelets whose colors depict flags of countries where Spanish is spoken, and more. The dance group will also standing by and be giving lessons, and there will be a photo booth.
The Club will also showcase different Hispanic finger foods, such as empanadas, which attendees sample as they participate in different events. The night should be over by 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $5 if you email [email protected] and reserve tickets before Friday night and $8 at the door. The VHS Spanish Club is encouraging all families from all of Verona’s public schools to attend because it will be a very family-friendly event.
