Thomas ScrudatoMr. Thomas Scrudato, 64, passed away on February 11, 2018 in Margate, Fla.

Born in Glen Ridge, Thomas grew up in Pompton Plains and lived in Verona for 24 years before moving to Margate in 2016.

A graduate of Pequannock Township High School and William Paterson University, Thomas had a career as a payroll manager for the Star Ledger (Penn Jersey Advance Publication), Kearfott Guidance & Navigation and most recently, Economos Properties in Boca Raton, Fla.

Thomas loved travel, the beach sun, and Florida. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Thomas brought a ray of sunshine into every room he entered. He impacted everyone he met and left many happy memories. To know Tommy is to love Tommy.

Thomas is survived by his partner of 31 years, David Houlihan, his parents, Alfonso and Josephine Scrudato, mother-in-law, Antonia Houlihan, his brothers, Robert Scrudato (Ann), Ronald Scrudato (Christine), sisters-in-law, Patrice Chojnacki, Lynn Ortiz (Steve), nieces Jill Musco (Shawn), Jaclyn Pappas (Vince), Lauren Scrudato (Jay), nephews, Michael Scrudato (Blair), James Scrudato (Elicia), Robert Chojnacki III, and Lucas Ortiz, cousins Linda, Rick and Patrick Cahill and many loving cousins and friends. Thomas was predeceased by aunt, Helen Hamm, father-in-law, Lawrence Houlihan, cousin, Scott Cahill, and brother-in-law, Robert Chojnacki Jr.

All services were held this past week. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
