
The Verona High School girls basketball team celebrated its seniors on Thursday, February 1, before playing a tight game against Glen Ridge.
Cecilia “CC” Courter, who has consistently been a high scorer for VHS, will be graduating with the Class of 2018, as will Amber Reed, who has been on the sidelines since an early season injury. Courter also plays lacrosse and will be continuing that sport in college at Saint Francis University, a Division I school. Reed has also been a power hitter for the VHS softball team.
Verona game up short in the contest against the Ridgers, 21-25, with scoring spread almost evenly across Courter and teammates Ivianna Anderson, Desiree Meyer, Cayla Okafor and Brianna Horton. Claire McMahon was the high scorer for Glen Ridge with 16.
Verona, which has an 11-6 record overall, hosts Caldwell on Tuesday, February 6 at 4 p.m.
