The plows have been out all over Verona today, but the with the temperatures to plunge into the single digits tonight (and the real-feel temps below zero), Verona’s public schools have called a delayed opening on Friday, January 5, to make sure everything is ready for safe travel.
All classes will start at 10 a.m., except the afternoon pre-K program, which will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Kindergartens will run 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Elementary schools will operate from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., while the middle school will be 10 a.m. to 2:52 p.m. and Verona High School will be 10 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
As of now, all of the away sports meets and games scheduled for Friday afternoon are still on, but keep an eye on the school district’s website.
