Volunteers Needed For Grove Park Cleanup

Grove Park
The Verona Environmental Commission will host a cleanup at Grove Park, Verona’s Historic Park & Nature Preserve located at 42 Grove Avenue, on Saturday, October 14, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Commission will provide gloves, garbage bags and other cleaning supplies, and they are also planning to plant an Eastern Redbud tree with help from volunteers. The Redbud, is an understory flowering tree native to eastern North America, known for announcing the approach of Spring with its delicate blossoms and buds. Volunteers are recommended to wear long pants, work boots and bring a reusable water bottle. Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcomed, children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Minors under age 18 must have a signed waiver, which is available at the event and at www.veronaec.org.
