The Township of Verona will commemorate the events Sept. 11, 2001 with a ceremony in the Civic Center at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, September 11.
The ceremony includes:
- The National Anthem
- Opening Prayer
- Mayor’s Remarks
- Lighting of the Memorial Candle
- Moment of Silence
- Singing of God Bless America
- Closing Prayer
The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon claimed 2,996 lives, including two Verona residents. William Erwin and Stephen Roach died in the attacks on the World Trade Center, as did Howard Kestenbaum, a resident of Montclair who worshipped at Congregation Beth Ahm.
